Time Saving Beauty Routines
By: Mom Index
Moms are often pressed for time due to child related responsibilities and work demands. As a result, they find it challenging to prepare for the day and to manage their personal appearance and health on a regular basis. Fortunately, there are techniques and shortcuts moms can follow to enhance their appearance and to feel refreshed even when they are overworked and tired. The following time saving beauty routines are easy to implement and to maintain on a regular basis.
The key to looking your best while managing a demanding schedule is following a straightforward makeup regimen. Purchase essentials such as blush, foundation, mascara and lip gloss and store them in a small container. Before you leave the house, take one to two minutes to apply foundation below your eyes to conceal dark circles and on your eyelids to even out your skin tone. Then apply mascara to lengthen your lashes and to make your eyes stand out. Finally, apply a small amount of blush to your cheekbones. Complete your look by applying moisturizing gloss to your lips. Carry your lip gloss in your purse or diaper bag so you can apply it as needed throughout the day.
If time permits or you perfect your one to two minute daily makeup routine and feel comfortable introducing more items into your routine, purchase products to add to your container. Products such as eyeliner, eye shadow and lipstick are excellent add-ons. If you determine that you have outgrown the container you selected for your quick application routine, create separate containers for day and evening makeup products. Manage your makeup container as you would manage your closet and always clean-out unused or expired items.
Although makeup is a great way to appear refreshed, you can enhance your appearance with a few quick application items. When you finish showering, apply lotion to your legs and arms. Then apply a light moisturizer to your face and elbows. You can substitute scented lotion for expensive perfumes, which do not have the added benefit of moisturizing your skin. If you do not have time to wash your hair and you want a clean hair feeling, lightly spray your hair with a scented spray-on shine or apply a dab of hair polish or finishing gloss to the ends of your hair for additional shine.
There are several simple beauty tasks that you can incorporate into your weekly personal care routine. Once or twice a week apply a clear coat of nail polish to your finger and toe nails. You will keep your nails shiny and healthy without scheduling a trip to the nail salon. In addition, store a nail file or exfoliating brush in the shower so you can clean your feet and eliminate dead skin as time permits. If you have dry skin, leave a bottle of lotion on your kitchen or bathroom counter, on your desk at home and at work and in your car so you can apply lotion as needed even on the go. Also, store a pair of tweezers in your medicine cabinet so you can clean-up your eyebrow area throughout the week.
Looking and feeling beautiful does not require a significant amount of time or effort. Create daily and weekly routines and select personal care products that work for your busy schedule and add or remove items as your schedule changes over time. Determine what you are comfortable applying on a daily basis and perfect your routine so you always have time to look and feel your best.
