Choose Sorbet Instead of Ice Cream

Choose sorbet as an alternative to ice cream. Generally, sorbet has less fat and few calories than ice cream and often, it even contains delicious real fruit.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. of Sirloin Steak
  • 1 Bag (10-12 count) of mini French Rolls
  • 1 12 oz. bag of sliced Pepper Jack Cheese 
  • 1/2 Cup Soy Sauce
  • 1 Cup Beef Stock 
  • 1 Teaspoon of Garlic Powder
  • 1/2 Cup Fresh Sliced Mushrooms
  • 1/2 Onion (Sliced)
  • 1 Teaspoon Sugar (Optional)

     

     


Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 350°  
  2. Slice Steak into 1/4 inch thick slices and set aside
  3. In Medium Saucepan over medium heat, combine Soy Sauce, Beef Stock, Garlic Powder, Mushrooms, Onion and Sugar.  Stir well and let simmer on low for 15 minutes.
  4. While "Au Jus" is simmering, cook steak pieces in a large skillet.  Make sure you coat the bottom of the skillet with oil.  Flip each piece one time and cook until both sides are cooked.
  5. Wrap Dinner Rolls in Foil and place in oven until warm.
  6. Cut Dinner Rolls in half, place the steak on the rolls, top with cheese and place in oven on a cookie sheet for 1 minute to melt the cheese.
  7. Add the "Au Jus" to small bowls for each family member for dipping.
