Seafood Appetizers

Tasty Rotini with Meat Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 13 -14 oz. Box of Whole Wheat or Whole Wheat Blend Rotini Pasta
  • 1 lb. of Ground Turkey Meat
  • 1 26oz. Jar of your favorite pasta sauce
  • 1/2 package (1/2 cup) of pre-packaged & chopped onions
  • 1/4 Teaspoon of Garlic Powder
  • 1/2 Cup of Grated or Shredded Parmesan Cheese
  • Olive Oil

Directions

  1. Cook Pasta according to directions on box, drain and set aside.  We recommend adding the dry pasta to the boiling water after cooking the onions.  This way the pasta will not sit for too long after cooking.
  2. Coat bottom of Large saucepan with Olive Oil and gently cook onions. 
  3. Add ground turkey meat to onions and cook meat until brown. 
  4. Sprinkle meat and onion mixture with garlic powder and then empty jar of sauce to mixture. 
  5. Let simmer for 5 minutes on low heat stirring frequently.

Serve immediately. 

Leftover sauce can be refrigerated or frozen.
